Bradley Beal Elite alum Jadis Jones has enjoyed a breakout freshman season at Lindenwood University and the accolades are pouring in.
This week, Jones earned his record-setting 12th Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor (out of 16 weeks) and followed that up by being named the conference’s Freshman of the Year as well as second team all-OVC.
A Missouri native, Jones stayed home to attend Lindenwood and has put together one of the best freshman seasons in program history, starting all 31 games for the Lions, the only player on the team to do so. Over those 31 games, Jones averaged 12.7 points per game, tied for the team lead, and 5.9 rebounds per game, which also led the team and ranked Top 10 in the OVC. Additionally, Jones tallied 1.5 steals and 1.1 assists/game and connected on 55.4 percent of his attempts from the field.
Jadis was even better amongst conference competition, averaging 13.6 points per game, 12th best in the OVC. He scored in double figures 22 times, including nine of the last 10 games prior to the conference tournament. Lindenwood heads into the OVC tournament as the sixth seed, with a record of 15-16, hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and make a run to the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
