As he finishes the first half of his first NBA season, Brandon Miller is finding his game at the next level and the accolades are starting to pour in.
On Thursday, the Bradley Beal Elite alum was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of January.
Since being selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Brandon hasn’t taken long to adjust to the game at the next level. Over his first 40 NBA games, including 34 starts, Miller is currently averaging 15.3 points per game. He was recently named one of 11 rookies who will participate in the 2024 Panini Rising Stars during NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Brandon turned his game up a notch in January, averaging 16 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, raising his season averages in all three categories, while playing and starting in 13 of Charlotte’s 16 games for the month.
Miller’s 2.2 made 3-pointers per game in January led all NBA rookies, and he recorded five of his six highest single-game scoring totals in January, capped by a 29-point outburst, matching a career-high, against the Knicks on January 29th. From January 19th through that game on January 26th, he averaged 20.4 points per game, one of only three rookies to average 20 or more points per gamer over a five-game stretch this season.
